When You Can't Fall Asleep

I only got three hours of sleep last night.  (Still not tired.)  As I tried to sleep, I kept thinking about the void* C problem.  Then I started planning new sections of the closing chapter for my next book.  Then I figured out how to build a tool to make it easier to reassemble the Colt Mustang after cleaning it.  I mentioned a while back the recoil springs and guide go in first and then the barrel sort of underneath it.  The gunsmith at Cylinder & Slide acknowledged this an be a struggle.  I believe I have a simple tool I can mill out of acetal that will make this easy to do.

That could be a product. If it works for you, have that gunsmith try it. If it works for him too, find some other Colt Mustang owners and have them try it.

If it works for them... Them either make/sell it yourself, or license it to someone who makes/sells gun paraphernalia. Maybe find a cheap Chinese job shop to make a few thousand.

Or... consider putting it out as a makefile for a 3-D printer. (It sounds like something that could be produced with the resins the 3-D printers use.) You wouldn't get any revenue, but you'd get a huge amount of goodwill.

  2. Make it myself is the plan. Acetal is quick to machine and won't scratch the gun. Probably sell them for $15 including postage.
