CNN Misleads With Headline Again

3/29/18 CNN:
Sessions does not appoint second special counsel to review FBI misconduct claims
But in the article:
Instead, Sessions revealed Thursday that Utah's top federal prosecutor, John Huber, is looking into allegations that the FBI abused its powers in surveilling a former Trump campaign adviser, and claims that more should have been done to investigate Hillary Clinton's ties to a Russian nuclear energy agency.
Hmmm.  The agent in charge decides against while his wife received hundreds of thousands in campaign contributions from Clinton associates?  Nothing suspicious there.  And:
The announcement comes one day after the Justice Department's internal watchdog office confirmed it would review how the FBI obtained a warrant to monitor Trump foreign policy aide Carter Page, as well as the bureau's relationship with Christopher Steele, the author of the Trump dossier.

Why Am I Not Surprised?

Rep. Hastings (D-FL) was accused of sexual harassing am employee which resulted in a $220,000 settlement.  You may recall Hastings was impeached and removed from the federal bench because he solicited a bribe from a defendant.   His response was,  "is it because I'm black?"  This worked so well that Florida voters sent him to Congress.

What Does It Say About How Swampcritters See Congressmen That This Sounds Like a Threat?

12/5/17 Washington Post:
Morse told The Post she quit her internship after Conyers drove her home from work one night, wrapped his hand around hers as it rested in her lap, and told her he was interested in a sexual relationship. When she rejected his advances, Morse said he brought up the then-developing investigation into the disappearance of former federal intern Chandra Levy.
“He said he had insider information on the case. I don’t know if he meant it to be threatening, but I took it that way,” Morse said in an interview. “I got out of the car and ran.”
You may recall that Levy's disappearance and murder ended the career of Rep. Gary Condit (D-CA).

Amazing comment on the story:
All men sexually harass women. If you are a woman that was as much as ogled by a male republican law maker or republican candidate, you need to come forward. If we shut down the republican party, we shut down the NRA and have common sense gun control nationwide.

Defending Al Franken AND Roy Moore

HotAir presents a Facebook posting by a Democrat running for governor of Ohio where he claims that he is defending Franken "on behalf of all heterosexual males," then boasts of sex with "50 very attractive females."  Unless he is boasting of rape, he clearly does not understand the complaint about Franken.  Worst of all, this idiot is a current Ohio Supreme Court justice.

Marvelous comment at Instapundit:
Anyone in public office who has a Faceplant account needs to have their head examined.

I Smell a Plea Bargain to Take Down Wasserman-Schultz

A laptop that Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz has frantically fought to keep prosecutors from examining may have been planted for police to find by her since-indicted staffer, Imran Awan, along with a letter to the U.S. Attorney.
U.S. Capitol Police found the laptop after midnight April 6, 2017, in a tiny room that formerly served as a phone booth in the Rayburn House Office Building, according to a Capitol Police report reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group. Alongside the laptop were a Pakistani ID card, copies of Awan’s driver’s license and congressional ID badge, and letters to the U.S. attorney. Police also found notes in a composition notebook marked “attorney-client privilege.”
The laptop had the username “RepDWS,” even though the Florida Democrat and former Democratic National Committee chairman previously said it was Awan’s computer and that she had never even seen it.

Voters Are Not Completely Stupid

I mentioned a while back a Congresswoman from Florida indicted for soliciting money for a charity that primarily helped her.  She lost the primary.  8/30/16 The Hill:
Rep. Corrine Brown (D-Fla.) is projected to lose her Democratic primary, making her the fifth House incumbent this cycle to be defeated in a primary.
Brown, who was indicted last month and whose district was redrawn after court-ordered redistricting, was defeated by former state Sen. Al Lawson in a primary for the Jacksonville-area seat.
With 98 percent of the votes counted Tuesday night, Lawson had 48 percent to Brown's 39 percent, according to the Associated Press.
In early July, Brown and Chief of Staff Elias “Ronnie” Simmons, were charged with 24 counts of fraud in connection with a fake charity. The charges include mail and wire fraud, conspiracy and tax fraud, according to the Department of Justice.
If she had been convicted, would she have only received 30% of the vote?

The Winer Gets His Just Deserts

Abedin, a top Hillary Clinton aide, released a statement saying, in part, “I have made the decision to separate from my husband.”
But further texts obtained by The Post show the ex-congressman had been expecting that news. He told his sext buddy that his nearly six-year marriage had been “busted” by the scandals he had forced Abedin to endure.
Great picture Weiner took of himself: the ultimate moronic expression.

How You Can Tell a Democrat is Doing Childcare

This is baby-sitting — Anthony Weiner-style.
While his wife, Huma Abedin, travels the country campaigning for Hillary Clinton, the disgraced ex-congressman has been sexting with a busty brunette out West — and even sent her a lurid crotch shot with his toddler son in the picture, The Post has learned.
The stay-at-home cad shot the revealing photo while discussing massage parlors “near my old apartment” shortly after 3 a.m. on July 31, 2015, a screenshot of the exchange shows.
Weiner was clearly aroused by his conversation with the 40-something divorcee when he abruptly changed the subject.
“Someone just climbed into my bed,” Weiner wrote.
“Really?” she responded.
Weiner then hit “Send” on the cringe-inducing image, which shows a bulge in his white, Jockey-brand boxer briefs and his son cuddled up to his left, wrapped in a light-green blanket.
This isn't the first time Weiner has done something inappropriate with his cell phone.  He doesn't seem able to learn.

I Guess New York City Truck Drivers Get Paid Better Than I Thought

From an article about NYC Mayor DeBlasio's continuing campaign finance problems:
The federal probe is checking whether some donors to de Blasio’s mayoral run were either reimbursed for their contributions or given cash to pass along to the campaign in order to skirt the city’s donation limits, according to sources.
The city’s campaign finance law prohibits individuals from contributing more than $4,950 to a candidate running for a citywide office during one election cycle. And it’s illegal to give someone else money to donate to a campaign....
A DNAinfo New York examination of de Blasio’s campaign finances has found some unusual contributions — one commercial driver who flip-flopped about making two sizeable donations and a Bronx landlord who said he did not give $4,500 to the mayor’s transition team, even though records show he did.
City Campaign Finance Board records show that two commercial drivers for a Queens beauty product wholesaler gave nearly $10,000 each to de Blasio’s mayoral run and transition team in less than two months time.
One driver is Rafael Zepeda, who lives in a third-floor walk-up in Corona and donated $5,000 by bank check to the de Blasio campaign on Oct. 27, 2013. On his contribution card, he listed his occupation as a driver for the wholesaler, Primary One LLC.
Zepeda made the contribution via a fundraiser thrown at a Washington Heights nightclub, but he did not attend the soiree, records show.
The maximum donation an individual can make to a city candidate’s election campaign is $4,950, so the de Blasio team later reimbursed Zepeda $50, records show.
After de Blasio won the election, Zepeda on Dec. 10, 2013 donated another $4,500 to his mayoral transition committee — the maximum contribution allowed under city rules to a transition team.
When DNAinfo reached Zepeda by phone late last month, he initially said he made the donations.
Hours later, Zepeda told DNAinfo that he did not make the donation and that he spells his name “Cepeda” not “Zepeda.” However, campaign records and a November 2015 arrest for driving without a valid license show his name is spelled “Zepeda.”
Records also show that Zepeda’s co-worker, Jose Zepeda, also donated the maximum amount to de Blasio’s campaign and transition team.
Jose donated $5,000 at an Oct. 21, 2013, fundraiser. The de Blasio campaign also reimbursed Jose $50 for contributing over the $4,950 limit.
Jose, who on his contribution card listed his home as an Elmhurst apartment and his occupation as a driver for Primary One LLC, later donated $4,500 to de Blasio’s transition team on Dec. 10, 2013.
DeBlasio being progressive, this won't be a big deal.

Restoring Voting Rights For Convicted Murderers

4/22/16 Richmond Times-Dispatch:

Gov. Terry McAuliffe signed an executive order Friday restoring the voting rights of 206,000 ex-felons, a sweeping action the governor said was aimed largely at rectifying Virginia’s “long and sad history” of suppressing African-American voting power.
The move, coming in a presidential election year, outraged Republicans who accused McAuliffe of abusing his power to help longtime ally Hillary Clinton win a battleground state by putting more likely Democratic voters on the books.
The governor’s order applies to all violent and nonviolent felons who had finished their sentence and supervised release as of Friday, even those who have not applied for a restoration of rights. Previous Virginia governors have restored rights on an individual basis, but none has done it for an entire category of offenders with one pen stroke.
My guess is that few will actually vote, but it is a reminder that Democrats care deeply about having their sort voting.

Why Are Democrats So Big On Gun Control?

Because they know themselves.  From the May 12, 2015 Detroit Free Press:
State Sen. Virgil Smith, suspected of firing shots at his ex-wife's Mercedes-Benz early Sunday, was arraigned today on felonious assault, domestic violence and other charges in Detroit's 36th District Court.

A not guilty plea was entered by the court for Smith, who appeared in court via video. Magistrate Millicent D. Sherman set Smith's bond at $25,000, of which he has to post 10% to be released....
Smith told investigators it was the stupidest thing he had done in his life, according to police.

The shots were fired after the Detroit Democrat's ex-wife pushed her way into the house and attempted to attack another woman who was in Smith's bed, according to police. Smith told police she threw a chair at the windows of his house and he shot at her car.

Another Of Those, "What Party Is She?" News Stories

Let me emphasize that I don't think her gambling addiction and misuse of campaign funds problem is specific to her being a Democrat.  But does anyone doubt that this news story would have left you in the dark if she had been a Republican?  From the September 12, 2012 Houston Chronicle:

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A Nebraska state senator has agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanor charges stemming from allegations that she misused campaign cash at casinos and filed false reports concealing that.
Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning announced the charges Wednesday against state Sen. Brenda Council. He says Council has agreed to plead guilty.
Bruning says it's clear Council has a problem with gambling. She withdrew $63,000 at casinos over the last several years and deposited $36,000 in cash.
Yet her Wikipedia page describes her political affiliation as "non-partisan."

Lawsuit Against Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano

From the August 10, 2012 New York Daily News:

A veteran US law-enforcement official has filed a blockbuster discrimination lawsuit against Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, charging she pushed him aside to make way for a less-qualified woman who’s “enjoyed a long-standing relationship” with the anti-terror chief.
That woman, Dora Schriro, was later appointed by Mayor Bloomberg as commissioner of the city Department of Correction, a post she still holds.
The court papers also allege that Suzanne Barr, Napolitano’s chief of staff at Immigration and Customs Enforcement, has engaged in “numerous” acts of “sexually offensive behavior” intended to “humiliate and intimidate male employees.

And then it gets more explicit.

The clear implication, however, is that Napolitano's anti-male biases reflect her preferences.  Napolitano has denied that she is a lesbian.  Looking at her style, I just can't imagine how anyone could wonder....

UPDATE: Debbie Schlussel apparently is who first broke this story.
