I Guess That I Was Mistaken About Dr. King

At least from this request from Biden's DOJ on why a rioter who started a fire that killed a person in the store deserves a shorter sentence:

On June 5, 2020, a man named Oscar Lee Stewart, 30, was reported missing to the Burnsville Police Department by his mother. Mr. Stewart’s mother reported that she had not seen her son since May 28, 2020. Investigators learned that Mr. Stewart’s vehicle had been found near the Max It Pawn. On July 20, 2020, authorities located Mr. Stewart’s body in the rubble of the Max It Pawn. Mr. Stewart’s remains were submitted to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office. That office attributed Mr. Stewart’s death to “probable inhalation of products of combustion and thermal injury (building fire).”...

There appear also to have been many people who felt angry, frustrated, and disenfranchised, and who were attempting, in many cases in an unacceptably reckless and dangerous manner, to give voice to those feelings. Mr. Lee appears to be squarely in this latter category. And even the great American advocate for non-violence and social justice, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., stated in an interview with CBC’s Mike Wallace in 1966 that “we’ve got to see that a riot is the language of the unheard.” Lily Rothman, What Martin Luther King Jr Really Thought About Riots, Time Magazine (2015), https://time.com/3838515

The full quote reveals something about how poorly the War on Poverty achieved its goal:

“I think that we’ve got to see that a riot is the language of the unheard. And, what is it that America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the economic plight of the Negro poor has worsened over the last few years.”

Remember that.  Upset about what they perceived (right or wrong) as a stolen election will not lead to a lessening of sentences for Jan. 6 defendants, nor should it.  But remember, if you are angry enough, killing someone by arson is just "the language of the unheard."

A Non-Answer That Tells You Everything You Need to Know

Sen. Cruz questions FBI official about FBI agent involvement in Jan. 6 riot.  It is a long enough clip that it cannot be out of context.

She refuses to answer the question because methods of gathering intelligence are confidential.

UPDATE: Some people I have sent this to say it does not matter if the FBI incited the riot; some Trump supporters made bad decisions.  But that also means blaming Trump for the riot makes no sense.  Blame the FBI.

New slogan: Defund the National Police.

A better segment where she refuses to answer if FBI agents committed criminal acts on Jan. 6.

Not Entirely a False Flag

12/18/21 Revolver amasses a large body of evidence that several agent provocateurs incited otherwise peaceful protestors into the January 6th riot:

Out of all of the thousands of January 6’s protesters, and the thousands of hours of publicly available footage from that fateful day, Ray Epps has turned out to be perhaps the only person nailed dead to rights confessing on camera to plotting a pre-planned attack on the Capitol. On both January 5 and January 6, Epps announced multiple times, at multiple locations, his upcoming plot to breach the US Capitol. He then spent hours attempting to recruit hundreds of others to join him. On top of it all, Epps was seen leading key people and managing key aspects of the initial breach of the Capitol grounds himself.

It would be one thing if Epps’s repeated calls on January 5 to “go into the Capitol” had simply amounted to bluster. But Epps followed through on his stated mission to shepherd others inside. In clips 4-6 of the above compilation, we see Epps actively orchestrate elements of the very first breach of the Capitol barricades at 12:50 p.m, while Trump still had 20 minutes left in his rally speech.

It is noteworthy that this Ray Epps breach occurs just one minute after Capitol Police began responding to reports of two “pipe bombs” located at DNC and GOP headquarters, respectively. Rather conveniently, the already-handicapped Capitol Police thus had still-fewer resources with which to respond to the barricade breach in question.

While the “pipe bombs” turned out to be a dud, the Ray Epps breach proved fateful. Today, the official stories told by the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the US Justice Department all depict the apparent Ray Epps-orchestrated 12:50 p.m. initial breach of metal barricades as the “Big Bang” event of January 6.

Two possible explanations: government agents; various lunatic fringe Trump supporters who thought this would be a good idea. They would be right up there with Marinus van Lubbe's convenient arson attempt at the Reichstag, giving Hitler reason to demand emergency powers.
