I Think That I Finally Figured Out Registax

 I stacked 165 frames from an AVI.

Then I fiddled with contrast and brightness in Irfanview:

Then I did an unsharp mask in GIMP:

This is on my list of things to do from a creative category of my writing: do excellent astrophotography and sell it.
