My kids and grandkids were up this evening so I rolled out the scope to show them Saturn (which turned out be Jupiter) and the cold wind just cut through me. I have star party plans, but I am going to have to dress warmly.
Cabela's has a line of coats (and vests) that are electrically heated - battery in the pocket. I got my ever-indulgent wife a coat last year and she loves it. Had to get her a second battery, partly for backup if she forgets to turn it off at work, partly in case she's out a long time. You might look into getting yourself one.
