This history of the English Civil Wars is approaching the end as we approach the Glorious Revolution. A brief mention of Seth Ward: "he studied at Cambridge where, in fulfilling the rather bizarre role as official university jester, he so offended the vice chancellorthat he was temporarily suspended." (p. 355)  

I do not know if this is bizarre. Many professors at Poison Ivy League schools are hard to distinguish from jesters already. 

If You Want to Know Why Higher Education is Held in At Least Suspicion When Not in Contempt

This sociology professor explaining why what we need is sociologists, not electricians:

"Societies lived without electricity for millennia. Some still do. Don’t give me this shit. 

"By contrast, societies have ALWAYS needed individuals to assess their societal needs and propose solutions. 

"That by nature is The Sociologist."

That by nature is an elitist who would starve to death if dropped on to a farm.

And using social media on a computer to denigrate electricians.

During the Cultural Revolution,  Mao went way too far when he exiled the academics to farms to muck pigs.  Even worse was making illiterate peasants doctors.  But I can increasingly see the merit to putting people with no experience working with their hands into some real-life work: jobs where people come home sore and hoping to not lose a finger on a power tool, or fingers cut up from installing a metal head gasket. 

Elsewhere,  this fool claims:

"Yeah. An authority on society and everything in it."
