I Am Reminded of the Pakistani Gun Makers Using Hand Tools to Make Assault Rifles

 5/2/23 Yahoo News:

Ukrainian engineers claim they have designed a “people’s missile” that can be built in an average front garden with almost double the range of the US-supplied Himars rocket.

The missile, which uses the same technology as the German V1, is essentially a motor-powered steel tube attached to a pair of glider wings and fired from a catapult.

The anti-Russian Vidsich protest group behind the design, dubbed Trembita in Ukrainian, says it can be produced cheaply from everyday materials.

A graphic released explaining the technology shows up to three of the rockets fitting inside a one-car garage.

By Vidsich’s own admission, the “garage-made” missile will not be able to strike with the same precision as laser-guided rocket systems.

But in a swarm of 20 missiles, the new weapon will likely be able to “overcome enemy air defences and hit targets at a sufficient depth”, the group claimed.

Early videos of the weapon shared on social media appear to show its makers firing up a crude pulsating jet engine.

The use of gasoline as fuel could thrust the rocket some 140km from launch, the engineers claimed, around double the range of the powerful Himars.

Its warhead could contain a thermobaric charge or a combined 20kg high-explosive charge, capable of creating chaos amongst Russians near the target zone.

San Francisco to Replace Closed Stores with Shoplifting Centers

San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors, the local equivalent of the city council, today voted unanimously to fill now or soon-to-be vacant retail space with city subsidized Shoplifting Centers.

The beleaguered city has recently seen closures of Whole Foods, Office Depot and Walgreen’s stores, and Nordstrom just announced plans to close its two stores in the city. “These departures are leaving the city with no suitable place for residents to shoplift,” said Board spokesperson Peacehaven Williams, whose pronoun is ζ.

The new centers will be stocked with similar items to those that were found in the stores that have left the spaces they will occupy, said Williams, with the most significant difference being that there will not be any cashiers or checkstands. The centers will be staffed by unionized city employees reflecting the rich cultural diversity of the bayside community, though the only jobs to be filled will be stocking shelves.

“The plan is for the shoplifting experience to parallel what was available at the establishments that have cruelly abandoned San Francisco by focusing on their perceived need to remain viable as businesses,” explained Williams. “Members of the public will be able to simply enter the building, take what they want, and leave without paying, without fearing that they will be arrested or pursued. In that way, it will be basically identical to the way it was before the other stores closed.”

It appears that the principal difference between the operation of the retail establishments and the new shoplifting centers will be that the city’s taxpayers will absorb the losses rather than private corporations.

Mass Murder With a British SUV Pattern Vehicle

5/8/23 Independent report about a Brownsville Texas murder of seven mostly Venezuelan immigrants with a Range Rover.

You know, you might almost think that there is something terribly broken going on, and not gun availability.  I have never connected a Range Rover to any ideology except suburban rich women.p

Now up to 8 dead and 10 injured.  George Alvarez is being charged.  I wait for him to be exposed as a "diversity" White Supremacist.

White Supremacy Has Gone Multiracial?

5/8/23 Independent reports that police are investigating neo-Nazi ties of the recent Texas mall shooter, Mauricio Garcia.

If this seems implausible, I recall a Korean student in the 1990s who did a college mass with neo-Nazi ties.

Really?  Or did mentally ill people look for a crazy group with which to identify?

Globus Syndrome

I think I have mentioned a problem with globus syndrome which is a feeling like there is something stuck in your throat.  (Chinese medicine calls it "peach-pit syndrome.")

My speech therapist (who is fiercely pro-gun and sees fixing this as this very important) used electrical stimulation to improve this along with treating acid reflux.  I ran out of clonezepam a few days ago (which seemed to help some).  The problem is back.  So I searched for clonezepam and globus and I found this article which found that anxiety in conjunction with acid reflux problems (GERD) seemed to be factors were the cause.

I do not feel anxious about anything except globus syndrome.  Feedback loop?

In conjunction with GERD treatment, clonezepam was effective at reducing or ending globus syndrome.  I look forward to getting that prescription refilled.

Another Pretendian

5/4/23 San Jose Mercury-News:
"After Elizabeth Hoover was hired as an associate professor by UC Berkeley in 2020, the anthropologist was mentioned in the campus media as one of the small but growing number of Native American scholars who could help make the campus a more welcoming place for learning and research into Native American history, culture and contemporary issues.

"But that promise is now mired in controversy, with Hoover admitting she’s “a White person” who “incorrectly” claimed to be Native American for her “whole life.” The situation has prompted calls for Hoover’s resignation and sparked concerns among her students and Native American scholars about UC Berkeley’s academic integrity and respect for authentic Native identity."

More proof of white privilege: claim you are not white to get ahead.

Where Racism Takes You

4/27/23 New England Journal of Medicine:

Founded on legacies of colonialism and racism, medical education has historically centered White learners and continues to perpetuate structural racism.4 Pedagogical approaches often center White learners and ignore the differential impact of content on BIPOC learners (Black, Indigenous, or people of color) with personal experiences of racism that are nuanced and have been informed by interactions and observations over their lifetimes. Immersion in the existing medical education system can therefore be retraumatizing, resulting in imposter syndrome, heightened anxiety, and a reduced sense of belonging. Especially as we seek to recruit more medical students who are BIPOC, we need to recognize this harm and encourage pedagogical approaches that support the needs of BIPOC learners.

The idea that blacks cannot compete on equal terms with whites is at the core of racial segregation in the bad old days.
