Why Racism Should Be Condemned Not Idolized

Imagine if a white supremacist put the equivalent up on YouTube.

  1. Why Racism Should Be Condemned Not Idolized

What is "racism"? Multiple possible meanings, and it's important to spell out your intent on an issue this contentious.

    Do you mean:

    - The belief that different races are different in significant, functional ways because of biology.
    - The belief that different races have different moral value/worth, which affects our duty towards them.
    - A preference to live among people of your own race, but no feeling of hostility or belief that other races have less moral value.
    - Actual hostility or hatred towards one or more races.

Are Charles Murray and Steve Sailer "racists" by your understanding of the term? I think it would be worth your time to listen to their recent discussion, hosted by Steven Hayward (Power Line).

    1. Murray and Herrnstein's book was widely condemned as racist by people who I suspect did not read it. (Someone else summarized it for them, why bother understanding a complex and compassionate argument?) The book clearly holds that even if the differences in outcome reflect genetic differences, each person deserves individual assessment.

Assumptions that blacks are intrinsically less intelligent ignores what The Bell Curve emphasized: there are plenty of blacks with higher IQs than the average American. Thomas Sowell and Clarence Thomas are light-years ahead of many of the white meth-heads who disfigure rural America.

    2. I would be quite happy to live in a neighborhood of intact, middle class black families. Thomas Sowell and Clarence Thomas moving to Middleton would raise the average IQ and education level. They are not alone. There are 7 black American billionaires and one partly black American billionaire in 2021. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_billionaires I suspect few are rap stars. I suspect that they are fine neighbors.
