Today's Weight

At the endocrinologist's office today, my weight was 210 pounds.  That's 10 pounds below my weight on heart surgery day, 20 pounds below what I was two years ago, and as low a weight as I can remember for at least a decade.  My wife is complaining that I need new pants.  But why rush into this?  I may well be below 200 by the time I stabilize.

Not with this nasty scar on my groin from where the heart-lung machine went.

Clayton, Back in 2011 I weighed about 235lbs. I made some changes in the form of simpler diet, some daily exercise, and I was consistent about it.

In a few months was astonished to find myself at 210lbs and bought new clothes for my son's wedding. By that time I was rolling along and by mid-2012 I was at 174lbs (I'm 5'9") and friends were telling me "Hey, gain some weight!!" Well, I've gained a few pounds back (185lbs) but it sure is nice to be able to buy more new clothes that fit well and don't make me look like a sack of potatoes. Hang in there and keep it up! It's worth it both in terms of health and also a refreshed self-image.

Get a CCW. The pistol will take up the slack. I've almost lost enough to wear a compact 9mm.

It's a bit late for me to get a carry permit! I have permits from six different states that cover about 39 states.
