The Senate Judiciary Committee just passed SB59 to increase the penalty for straw purchases from the current 10 years to 20-30.
Of course, VP Biden already announced the executive doesn't have the time nor the interest in prosecuting straw purchasers so the whole thing was a charade used by the media to castigate Republicans for voting against it.
More useless legislation to make it appear they're "doing something".
