Kerr County Flooding: Blame Game Under Way

Of course,  as with all tragedies, Trump is to blame.   07/10/25 NPR is being to careful not to blame Trump for this tragedy,  but the next one:
"Kerr County struggled to fund flood warnings. Under Trump, it's getting even harder."

7/9/25 BBC plays the same game:
"The intense rainfall and flash floods are the deadliest weather disaster in the US since President Donald Trump's administration conducted mass staff cuts at two key weather and climate agencies: the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Organisation (NOAA) and its subsidiary, the National Weather Service (NWS).

"While experts say the National Weather Service issued alerts in a timely manner over the weekend, the deadly incident carries warnings about what could happen if the NWS and NOAA are not properly staffed and funded in the future."

So what actually caused insufficient warning?  7/10/25 ABC News:

"At 4:22 a.m. on Friday, as Texas' Hill Country began to flood, a firefighter in Ingram – just upstream from Kerrville – asked the Kerr County Sheriff's Office to alert nearby residents, according to audio obtained by ABC affiliate KSAT. But Kerr County officials took nearly six hours to heed this call."

The warning was "bureaucratized."  I generally trust local governments more than remote entities but they are not immune to corruption (as Caldwell,  Idaho voters are discovering) and incompetence.
