'The researchers suggest that 3I/ATLAS’s orbit is such that it would make it easier for an intelligent alien craft to approach Earth without being noticed.
"They report that when it gets closest to the Sun (perihelion) in late November, the object will be hidden from Earth’s view, allowing it to carry out a secret high-speed manoeuvre to slow down and stay in the Solar System to secretly prepare for an attack.
"They add that 3I/ATLAS has an unusual path that comes very close to planets like Venus, Mars and Jupiter—something very unlikely to happen by chance, with less than 0.005% probability."
You are adequately prepared to fight off the visitors. Do you eemember the series V in the 1980s. Loads of fun to watch with some memorable great lines. We finally find out the lizard people are wearing humanoid masks. The guy from CIA has a MAC-10 and taunts them with, "I'll cut you down to wallet size."
I find the extraterrestrial visitor theory utterly implausible although not impossible. Rogue planets and therefore rogue comets and asteroids have gone from science fiction to an acceptable theory as planetary orbital dynamics have been worked these last 30 years. Extrasolar is certain, but intelligent life seems implausible if they were sneaking up on us why so bright?
Not to mention, if they're that far ahead of us in propulsion and life sciences and engineering, that they can build such a huge vessel, fill it with crew, and send it to a distant solar system with that kind of precise trajectory, why bother being cagey about it? Just barge in and have your way with us--there would be little we could do to hinder them, no matter what their intentions.
