How Do (Some) Members of Congress Get So Rich?

Let me emphasize some.  Idaho A-G Raul Labrador was elected to Congress as a not very wealthy man.  Two terms later, he was still one of the poorest members.  Integrity has its punishments, I guess.

Most of the sleazy do Insider trading to get rich.  Some are clearly not that smart and need to do it the old-fashioned way: bribes.

4/21/25 CNN reports that Sen. Menendez's wife has also been convicted of receiving bribes:
"During a 2022 raid on the couple’s Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, home, FBI agents found nearly $150,000 worth of gold bars and $480,000 in cash stuffed in boots, shoeboxes and jackets. In the garage was a Mercedes-Benz convertible, also an alleged bribe."

The sordid details included unregistered foreign nation agent.

How high on the hog do you have to live that a Senator's salary cannot make you rich?
