3/11/26 National Review article discusses how one of the New Yorker's niche publications about architecture is horrified to discover that some chains, like Whole Foods, have "jails," rooms where they hold shoplifters until police arrive. Worse they are holding members of the elite:

Her subjects include a “designer,” a “photographer,” a “sculptor,” and a “food stylist,” all of whom executed their heists in one of the highest-end grocers in America, each of which is located in some of the wealthiest zip codes in the United States."

If this was poor people stealing a loaf of bread because of hunger, the progressive sympathy for the poor might make sense, but this is just a sign of the moral degeneracy of the left.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Jefferson County judge has sentenced a convicted felon to 30 years in prison, declining to follow a jury’s recommendation of 65 years in a case involving robbery, kidnapping, sodomy and sexual abuse.

Christopher Thompson, 24, was sentenced on Feb. 2 after a December conviction tied to a 2023 attack in which prosecutors said he abducted a woman, robbed her and sodomized her twice.

Court documents say Thompson kidnapped the woman in her own vehicle and forced her to perform oral sex on him in a school parking lot. Then, he drove her to an ATM, robbed the woman, drove back to the school lot and sodomized her at gunpoint again.

Thompson's sentencing hearing was marked by repeated disruptions, profanity and direct insults toward Judge Tracy Davis.

“Before we even get appearances, Mr. Thompson, I’m going to need you to be respectful,” Davis said.

“I ain’t doing nothing. Eat my d**k,” Thompson responded.

Moments later, the exchange escalated.

“It’s fine. Okay? It’s fine,” Davis said.

“If I could spit on you, I would,” Thompson replied.

“At the end of the day, I’m the one with the pen,” Davis said.

“I don’t care,” Thompson said.

Despite the continued outbursts, the court proceeded with sentencing. Prosecutors urged Davis to impose the jury’s recommended 65-year sentence.

“I don’t have sympathy for nobody. I don’t have sympathy for you, the victim, the victim’s family, I don’t care. Boo hoo,” Thompson said during the hearing.

Davis ultimately imposed a 30-year sentence, citing Thompson’s age and the possibility of rehabilitation — even as Thompson continued interrupting.

“I don’t care. I don’t care,” Thompson said.

“Unfortunately he fell through the cracks and ended up in this court as an 18 or 19-year-old,” Davis said. “This court does not believe Mr. Thompson, if given the resources that he can get while incarcerated, is beyond being rehabilitated.”

One of the longstanding hopes of having women on juries and the bench was treating rape as a serious crime. The judge's comments make it clear that she sees Thompson as a victim because he is black. Say no to racism.

I am not surprised an unhinged leftist would think such things.  But her willingness to record herself saying these dark fantasies (giving her the benefit of the doubt) and in a way that made her, and thus her employer, identifiable is just bizarre.

I will not call this Toxic Femininity.  Toxic Masculinity is a dangerously exaggerated set of traits that are at least stereotypically masculine.  These dark thoughts do not exaggerate caring for others to the point of regarding convicted child rapists as victims in need of protection from a cruel and uncaring system.  That might qualify as Toxic Femininity.  This is just brainwashing to the point of real evil.

It just occurred to me as I was vacuuming: if a peace officer (or anyone else) saw someone brandishing a syringe in a hostile setting, assuming poison would be reasonable. Deadly force is now justified.

Ordinary Men

Netflix has a documentary of this title built around Christopher Browning's book by this title.   It was profoundly disturbing. Like Leni Yahil's The Holocaust: The Fate of European Jewry, Browning points out the officers in charge of the Einsatzgruppen were highly educated (usually with two doctorates) cultured middle class men.  

The parallels to today are worrisome: the younger members of Police Reserve Battalion 101 were more likely to carry out orders to exterminate Jews because they had been educated in hatred their entire lives.  Those a bit older and thus not victims of K-12 education under National Socialist rule were more likely to refuse those orders.  

The Poison Ivy League and their state university peers have been doing this same job of educating the young to hate and avoid nuanced examination of claims.  They are producing the same highly credentialed intellectuals that can sway those of weak moral character to do evil.  If the current Democratic Party ever gets back in control with their current rage, Jews and those of us who qualify as Jew-adjacent will need to be ready to deal with this before they start herding us into boxcars or bullet trains to central Nevada for re-education.  (I am kidding about bullet trains; they will never get them working soon enough for extermination.)

Migrants granted asylum will no longer automatically get a permanent right to stay in the UK, Shabana Mahmood is to announce.

The Home Secretary will unveil reforms on Monday to increase deportations and reduce Britain’s attractiveness to migrants, describing the reforms as “the most significant changes to our asylum system in modern times”.

At present, asylum seekers granted refugee status are given automatic permanent settlement in the UK after five years, with some rare exceptions.

Under the new proposals, refugees will only be granted a temporary right to stay subject to regular review. They will be sent home if officials deem that their country is safe to return to.

The changes are inspired by Denmark, which initially gives refugees only a temporary two-year stay. The country’s centre-Left government has reduced the number of asylum applications to their lowest in 40 years and successfully removed 95 per cent of rejected asylum seekers.

Planaria can learn from electric shock, and even Labour can learn from Nigel Farage's success.  American progressives seem to not learn from the shock of Trump.

“Bottom line on Maine’s 2nd Congressional District: It’s a Republican-leaning district, now absent the one Democrat who could hold it,” a Republican consultant who has worked on congressional and statewide campaigns in the state told the Daily Caller.

Maine has been long regarded as a moderate state Golden is viewed as one of the few Democrats capable of effectively representing the rural 2nd District’s constituents.

“The district has been getting more and more difficult for the Democrats to win for a decade now,” a longtime Maine political operative told the Caller.

Trump won Maine’s 2nd all three times he ran for president, including by almost ten points in 2024.

In 2024, Golden’s campaign messaging straddled both sides of the political spectrum. His ads simultaneously called former President Joe Biden “unfit to serve” while highlighting Republican opposition to abortion. Ahead of Trump’s election last November, Golden said he’d be “OK” if Trump won, accusing his own party of “pearl-clutching” about the ramifications of a Trump presidency. He was one of a handful of Democrats to join Republicans in a vote to reopen the government earlier this week.

Speaking to GB News, the Shadow Justice Secretary declared that the "landmark case" was an attempt to implement "backdoor blasphemy laws" into Britain."

I can understand the desire of Muslims to make Western nations like the hellholes they (or their parents) fled.  But the willingness of Westerners to help them is really absurd.

A woman in Chicago was recently caught red-handed (or brown-handed?) smearing dog feces on a Tesla Cybertruck decorated with an American flag wrap and featuring President Trump's gold-leaf signature on the tailgate.

The incident unfolded in the Northalsted neighborhood while the truck's owner, John Evans from Savannah, Georgia, was attending a conference in the city. What this vandal apparently failed to remember was that Tesla vehicles come equipped with multiple cameras that capture everything happening around them. Evans returned to find his vehicle defaced, and the footage told the whole story.

"It's crazy that something like this upsets somebody so much that they decided, 'oh I'm going to ruin that person's day,'" Evans told FOX 32. "Well, the shoe is on the other foot now." The surveillance video showed the woman calmly spreading the mess across the tailgate before walking away, apparently satisfied with her handiwork. Evans suspects the Trump-themed decoration was what set her off. "On the tailgate in Gold Leaf, there is a representation of the signature of President Trump," he explained. "And I think that may have further inflamed the mental illness of the person that decided to do this to my vehicle."

Rather than call police, she decided to post pictures and let the market deal with her business ("the owner of a local dog daycare"). At least it washes off.

Her Instagram account tells us that: "Fascists are not people."  If my memory serves me right, this was the phrase the SS used to concentration camp inmates: "Kein arbeiten, kein fressen."   No working, no feeding.  German has two verbs for eating.  Essen is for people eating, fressen is for animals feeding.  Let us hope leftist efforts to provoke civil war do not reach that point.

A man in Norway is sparking outrage on social media after he was sympathetically interviewed about his decision to begin identifying as a disabled woman.

On October 28, Good Morning Norway (God Morgen Norge, GMN) aired an interview with Jørund Viktoria Alme, 53, an able-bodied male who now identifies as a disabled woman. In the interview, Alme stated that he had always wished he had been born a woman who was paralyzed from the waist down.

 Will some progressive please explain why this is not sick?  Not intersectionality but madness?

Alme, a senior credit analyst for Handelsbanken in Oslo, has received positive coverage in Norwegian media since he first announced his trans-disability publicly on Facebook in 2020. He has given several interviews, often alongside his wife, Agnes Mjålseth.

Despite having no physical handicaps, Alme currently utilizes a wheelchair “almost all the time.”

In addition to gender dysphoria, Alme claims to have a Body Integrity Disorder (BID), citing a “dissonance” between how he perceives himself and how his body functions. “I have struggled with this every day my whole life,” Alme told Vi, a Norwegian outlet, earlier this year.

“It is a cognitive dissonance: in the same way that I experience being a woman in a man’s body, I experience that I should have been paralyzed from the waist down. This is not a desire to be a burden on society. It is about the wheelchair being an aid for me to function in everyday life, both privately and at work,” Alme stated.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Six days after a photo was taken of Illinois Governor JB Pritzker posing alongside a Peacekeeper, court records claim the man was part of a violent crash-and-grab burglary on Michigan Avenue and a crash that killed a young father, the ABC7 I-Team has learned.

Chicago police said it was a squad of seven who shattered the Magnificent Mile storefront of Louis Vuitton and sped off with hundreds of thousands worth of designer goods on September 11 before one the alleged getaway cars crashed into Mark Arceta's vehicle, killing the expectant father whose son was born the next day.

Police say a man listed as both Keller and Kellen McMiller was one of the seven fleeing thieves. Court records show McMiller had outstanding arrest warrants in Cook County, Florida, Wisconsin and Indiana.

Days earlier, McMiller had posed with Governor Pritzker at an event with Peacekeepers.

In a statement to ABC7 in response to an email asking about the picture with McMiller, Pritzker's office said, in part, "We were extremely troubled to learn that this individual was arrested for his alleged involvement in this serious crime, and we expect them to be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law..."

Murder City’s Brandon Johnson declared that law enforcement is “a sickness” that he intends to “eradicate.” The fiery, but mostly peaceful press conference also saw the feckless mayor demand and end to jails and incarceration for those who can’t manage to follow society’s laws and norms.

Johnson, with a single-digit approval rating at one point in his term, has found himself under a lot of pressure to do something to reduce the Second City’s rampant violent crime problem.

Trump is winning by getting on the 80/20 side of every split.  Democrats now seem to trying to get on the wrong side of the 98/2 split.

"At the time, Wilson was ordered to serve 32 hours of public service in lieu of jail time and pay the City of Boise $91.96 in restitution."

Not mentioned in this article was that Wilson was a BLM activist and BSU adjunct faculty.  I expect continued attempts at provoking a reaction, so go armed but aware that they will try to provoke an over-reaction.  "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words never cross the line into lawful deadly force."  If you cannot keep this under control, do not come armed.  Leave long guns at home.  If armed, concealed them.

My wife vetoed it.  She pointed out that last night was thrown together by our side and the progressive response was similarly ad hoc.  Tonight the progressives might be armed to cause mass deaths.  I would like to think Boise PD could handle this but not good to put too many conservatives in one uncontrolled space.

"The West Ada School District has fired a Meridian High School employee after she posted a video on social media that “shocked and saddened” district officials....

"A video circulating on social media Thursday shows a woman in a Meridian Warriors T-shirt celebrating the shooting of Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old conservative activist who was killed Wednesday at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah."

There is now a Trophy Case on X of people gloating at Kirk's death and the consequences for them (fired or suspended).  In mentored, being classless and rude had the minor risk of a bloody nose.  Social media eliminated that risk.  Job loss means no more funding of fascism. Full consequences for depravity.

Leo Ryan assassinated in 1978 by members of a cult led by a prominent socialist who bequeathed the cult's property to the Soviet Union (which they did not get).

Reagan by a nut job with no identifiable politics.  Bernie Bro Hodgkinson who shot GOP Congressmen at a baseball game.  The first Trump assasin who had contributed to ACT-BLUE.  Second assassin unclear as to politics.  

Oh, and we can go back to the Puerto Rican Nationalists who opened fire on Congress in 1954.
