"OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland NAACP has called on city leaders to declare a state of emergency due to rising crime, calling the situation a "crisis," and has urged residents across the city to speak out against it. 

"The group, alongside Bishop Bob Jackson of the Acts Full Gospel Church, issued the statement on Thursday, blasting both city and county officials, as well as social justice movements. 

"Failed leadership, including the movement to defund the police, our District Attorney’s unwillingness to charge and prosecute people who murder and commit life-threatening serious crimes, and the proliferation of anti-police rhetoric have created a heyday for Oakland criminals," the letter states."

Defunding police has always injured blacks most because they are primary victims of crime

Remember that much of "systemic racism" screeching is people gaming the system as paid experts appealing to guilt-ridden whites.

 The Other McCain points to how lazy reporters have turned every police officer shoots black man into the headline "Family Demands Answers" instead of asking questions:

Am I asserting that, in each of these cases, the police were entirely justified, and that all these complaints are illegitimate? No, of course not. One must examine each case in detail to determine whether or not police procedures were proper and lawful. My point is not about police procedures, but rather about the lazy cookie-cutter approach to journalism that yields such a predictable series of headlines. And, in case you’d care to click those headline links, you will discover that in every case, the person shot by police is black. We know, as a matter of statistical fact, that cops actually shoot more white suspects than black suspects, but when did you ever see a news story about a white family “demanding answers” in such a case? I can only think of one off the top of my head — a crazy woman in Tennessee who charged cops with a pickax — but I’m sure there must be others. In general, when a white person does something that causes cops to shoot them, most white people are like, “OK, we can understand that.” There’s no protest, no angry rhetoric about “injustice” or “oppression,” no white people looting Target.

Whatever their race, people who get killed by cops don’t become victims at random. In almost every case, there was a reason this person died in a hail of gunfire — they did something, and whether or not they were a criminal menace to society, their death was legally justified.

Black Lives Matter Activist Pleads Guilty

4/18/16 NJ.com:

In a surprise move, a Kean University graduate accused of sending Twitter messages threatening black students on campus appeared in court Monday and pleaded guilty to the charge.

Kayla McKelvey, 25, of Union Township, pleaded guilty to a single count of third-degree creating a false public alarm, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace Park said in a statement.

In exchange for her plea, the prosecutor's office will recommend she receive a 90-day jail sentence, Park said.McKelvey, who is black, must also agree to pay $82,000 in restitution for the police response and investigation of the threats.

Last Thursday, Superior Court Judge William Daniel rejected McKelvey's appeal to be permitted in to a Pre-Trial Intervention Program that would have placed her on probation and could have allowed her to have the charge dropped from her record.

$82,000!  How many iterations of "Would you like fries with that, sir," will it take to pay that off?
