My Wife Observed That the PRC Has a Strong Reason to not Nuke Us

They own more than a trillion dollars of U S. Treasuries.  A glowing DC would immediately default on those bonds, assuming that any of the PRC leadership (which is reputed to personally own a lot of U.S. Treasuries) would be able to collect dividends through the vaporized SWIFT system.
