ReplyDeleteIn the case of Texas at least, the reason appears to be a form of "regulatory capture."

Better yet, have the students explain what degree they are going for and how it will lead to gainful employment that will cover paying the loan back.
ReplyDeleteIf you list a social justice degree with the prospects of landing a job at Starbucks then I would question the sanity of anyone who made or took such a loan.
I'm glad PDX wasn't that bad when I was there, at least not in anything I saw.

Numbers? Mathematics? I intend to hire people to do that for me with my Grievance Studies degree.
