My wife and I have been watching a Swiss called Hitler's Circle of Evil, about his closest advisors. The description of how Roehm's brownshirts used violence as a tool of intimidation and to provoke violent overreaction is so Antifa. How unfortunate our media are too ignorant of history to recognize it.
I don't think that they are ignorant. They just don't recognize it for what it is. They fully believe that their acts of violence are in self defense or are otherwise justified.
ReplyDeleteI had an opportunity to go to a few Trump rallies. I didn't bother. Why? Because of all the violence directed at Trump supporters. To paraphrase a common thread about avoiding violence that I see often on gun blogs, "Don't go to places where you are going to get into a fight.
I could have attended Trump's inauguration. Again, I felt that I should avoid it because I was afraid that I would be assaulted. And of course there were protesters preventing people from entering the inauguration.
But many media just accepted it.
