"Alexander would not let anything stand in his way whether it be opponents, unknown desserts, or near death experiences...." Were I eat the entire Death by Chocolate dessert at Tucanos, it might be a near death experience.
And from another paper, a reminder of what happens when pieces of furniture get uppity: "Alexander, at 19, was seized to the throne."
