Few Mass Murders Make Sense

Some have an obvious motive: extortion, robbery, eliminating witnesses, mental illness.  Some are clearly the consequence of intoxication even if some other factor provoked the final act.  Some just make you scratch your head and wonder, "What the hell happened?"

Rochester, N.Y. (1934)

12/01/1934: The neighbors complained about a noisy “three-day drinking party.”  When police arrived, the man answering the door said “wait a minute.”  Police forced entry after hearing shots.  The private detective at the party shot to death his three companions and then himself.

Category: private

Suicide: yes

Cause: intoxication

Annoying Word Quirk

For reasons that seemed to make sense at the time, I assigned Ctrl-F to a macro.  But if you have Word in the right side of your display (Windows key-right arrow) the Find part of the Home ribbon is no longer visible.  If I want to do Find by Ctrl-F, it is assigned to that macro.  How do I reassign Ctrl-F to Find?  I went to File>Options>Customize Ribbon>Keyboard Shortcuts>Customize>Categories>Home Tab then selected EditFind and made Ctrl-F the new shortcut key Assign, then OK back out.  Ctrl-F is still assigned to a macro that I have deleted!  Do any of you Word gurus have a suggestion?

More Evidence of Systemic Racism

A list of black billionaires as of 2021 includes seven Americans and one billionaire of mixed black and Jewish heritage.

Five are entertainers: one a chemical engineer; one a business tycoon.  One is a reminder of what systemic racism was:

Steward was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Dorothy, a homemaker, and Harold Steward, a mechanic.[4] As a child growing up in Clinton, Missouri, Steward faced poverty and discrimination.[8]

"I vividly remember segregation—separate schools, sitting in the balcony at the movie theater, being barred from the public swimming pool," notes Steward, who was among a small group of African-American high-school students who integrated the public swimming pool in Clinton in 1967.[9]

With this going against him, what possible chance did he have?

The partly black billionaire is "the co-founder and CEO of the software firm Palantir Technologies."

I have not looked up black millionaires; that is probably a much longer list because millionaire is so easy in America.

This Largely Predates the Current Crisis Over the Ukraine

But it explains Putin's cat-and-mouse game with the Ukraine and NATO.  His military actions are "wag-the-dog" maneuvers to maintain popular support.  It also explains part of Trump's efforts to make America the world's leading oil producer to drive down oil prices, and Biden's reversal of those efforts:

Sail Into the Iceberg!

Jen Psaki refers to soft-on-crime as alternate universe.  The Twitter pile-on gives all the answers needed.  Biden's people are not even as much in touch with America as Obama's people were.

Why Did Biden Threaten the Ukrainian Government into Firing Their Prosecutor

 You may recall this:

Now we find out what the Obama Administration thought about the prosecutor.  Here's a letter thanking that prosecutor for his actions.
