I am hoping Northwind can restore my PC: it appears that my backup scripts to back up to external drives have not been doing their job. I got nothing done today except curse Microsoft repeatedly.
Unless you've successfully restored from scratch to a bare hard drive, you don't have a backup system, you only have a vague hope.

ReplyDeleteI used to be the tech support manager for a company that made fairly bad backup software...but it was bundled by IBM.
Lots of calls from people that had never tested their backup by deleting an innocuous file from their PC or server, and restoring from their 'backup'.
I'm glad I found a better job...
