The Easiest Replacement Ever
I think I mentioned a while back that the DVD drive on the Compaq NC6000 (visit a computer museum to see one) had failed. I ordered a new replacement for $11 on eBay. I spent a bit of time trying to find instructions for remove and replace. Page 5-16 of the HP service manual shows how. Push one switch on the bottom and pull the drive out, then push the new one in. Awesomely simple.
