When she exited the bathtub, she shook the water off, and the bathroom wall had a spray of blood on it.
The blood kept squirting out of this 1/2" long tear, so we took her to West Vet Emergency Veterinary last night. It will be a bit more than $1000 to get this fixed. Glad we don't have car payments this month.
Ouch! Years ago (~14?) a young cat we had saw a needle with some thread on the table and we only knew because we saw the thread dangling from the cat's mouth as the cat was swallowing the thing. Of course we grabbed the cat, but it was too late, it was already down the throat. Rush to the vet and get an X-ray. Sure enough there was the needle! They used an endoscope with a gripper and luckily were able to extract the needle without doing surgery. Even without surgery the bill was around a $1,000! My step mom had set down the needle and thread to use the restroom and so this happened in the span of less than a minute. Needless to say the lesson was learned---don't leave something dangerous unattended even for a minute. Pets are like little children and get into trouble in a blink of an eye.
ReplyDeleteEar cuts are always messy. The irritation leads them to constant head-shaking.
ReplyDeleteOuch, indeed! For that cost, I'd be looking to do my own surgery on the wee beastie.
