For Those Of You With Cutoff Saws (Also Called Chop Saws)

The fence against which you place material to be cut: how tall is it?  I'm working on a product that makes it quick and easy to cut materials to .01" accuracy on your chop saw (probably priced in the $5 range), and I want to make sure that I don't have to make multiple different versions.

  1. I've a 12" Craftsman Professional with a 3/8" thick fence split in two parts. The left side is 1-3/4" high and the right side is 2-1/2" tall.

  2. I have a 10" Delta Model 36-220

The right side fence starts 1.5 inches from the blade at the table top. Over 2 inches angles up to 1.5 inches high.

The 1.5 inch height is 2 inches long, then over the next 2.5 inches the fence increases to 3 inches high. The 3 inch section is 1 inch long.

Overall the left fence 7.5 inches long and varies from table top to 3 inches high.

The right side fence is a rectangle - 8 inches long and 2.5 inches high, it starts 1.125 inches from the blade.

The adjustable material stop sticks up 1 inch from the table top.
