Make me wonder if social media has a feedback loop effect on the emotionally unstable. I shudder to think of my late father-in-law on social media. My wife says the lack of immediate negative feedback is part of the problem. Things that would get you punched in the noise in a bar have no immediate effect on social media. Why am I imagining Facebook with a little hand coming out of the screen and slapping you?

I'm sure it does have a feedback effect.
ReplyDeleteBeyond that, it turns relatively stable people into mobs - a well known phenomenon in real life, is also real in the media. In fact, I attribute the craziness of the modern left partly to that- the other part of course is due to the Gramscian ideology being pushed at them. Likewise, the alt-right seem to be another mob enabled by social media.
