Making Rainbows From Storms
I tried to make cinnamon walnut raisin bread today. I screwed up. I soaked the raisins in water while waiting for the stage where you add them. I forgot to drain them, so there was too much water. It did not rise well and came out a bit gooey. So I put it in the oven for half an hour to finish baking.

There was a time when I was making pie crust by hand and used Bisquick instead of flour. All the other ingredients were correct. I can't describe the result, really. The crust baked into shape, but with margarine in addition to whatever they put into Bisquick, it was very heavy, and very rich. I cannot recommend it as a variation for pie crust unless you are on an Arctic expedition and need extra fat (I think it was Wallace Stegner, about 45 years ago who ate a quarter pound of butter every day to get sufficient fat and calories to continue the trek
