Another Great Film

Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris.  London housecleaning sees gorgeous Christian Dior gown in flaky employer's closet and dreams of buying one. (Back then, Dior was not sold in stores where even middle class women shopped.)  She dreams of getting one. How does she get one? A bit of pluck, a bit of luck, treating people along the way that everyone would want.  I am not sure if the process by which Dior was democratized is fact or fiction, but it is heart-warming and idealistic, much like Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.  Enjoy it like you enjoy those films and see the idealism as an aspirational goal not the gritty often nihilistic "realism" that took over Hollywood in the 1960s.  (You know realism like Barbarella and Zardoz.)
