Anyone Remember a 1-Button Microsoft USB Mouse?
I found it a drawer that needed emptying. Unsurprisingly, Windows 7 has no clue what drivers it needs. And how do you use a 1 button mouse. If anyone wants it for their computer museum, tell me. Otherwise, I'll pitch it.
If I'm not mistaken, what you have yourself there is not a mouse, but the receiving for a Microsoft Keyboard / Mouse desktop set. Looks like one I bought circa 2003 or so; might have been used for multiple models. See here for a picture with one shown next to the other components of its set: https://www.adverts.ie/keyboards-and-mice/microsoft-1000-desktop-wireless-multimedia-keyboard-optical-mouse-kit-black-gray/4988101

Well, in OSX, you right-click by hitting the button while holding ctrl, IIRC.
ReplyDeleteBut I... don't think that's a mouse.
(If you look up the model number I'd expect to see on the bottom, I bet you can figure out what it is.
I'd suspect it's some sort of wireless dongle for something else, maybe?
...
Yep, some sleuthing says it's the RECEIVER for an MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer, I assume the button is for pairing.)
I think that is the USB receiver for a mouse, a keyboard, or a "desktop set" with both. The button would be for pairing.
ReplyDeleteOn the bottom Label: Wireless Intellimouse Explorer Receiver. Unknown nailed it.
