This statistic shows the death rate for suicide in the United States from 1950 to 2015. In 1950, there were 13.2 deaths by suicide per 100,000 resident population in the United States. In 2015, the suicide death rate stood at 13.3 per 100 thousand. It has been found that the death rate for suicide in the U.S. for males has remained higher than that of femalesfor the entire period of 1950 to 2015.

The low point was 2000.

Curiously, since the gun control crowd insists guns need banning because of gun suicides (the majority of gun deaths in America), the 2015 suicide death rate list has America at #48 of 183 countries.
