A Sobering Documentary on Synthetic Drugs
On Netflix, there is a series called Inside Secret America, and one episode is titled "Bath Salts," about the explosion of synthetic drugs that are legal because advertised as incense or glass cleaner, with horrendous consequences for the users. Now, I know that many of you think that it doesn't really matter if people choose to destroy themselves, and better to have everything legal, so they can do so with natural drugs. This is a pretty sobering documentary, nonetheless, and ends with a reminder that much of what drives this desperate need for intoxication is spiritual emptiness. I keep hoping Africa or China starts to send Christian missionaries to America: there is certainly a need for them here in this sin-soaked and depraved country.
