Yes, France was ready for invasion at the Battle of Tours (732). And that's why I teach Western Civilization in English, not Islamic Civilization, in Arabic.
France isn't worried--right now all the Germans are looking towards the eastern front and wondering if they're going to have to get off the dole and go fight.
Islamic Civilization would be a short course since it covers about 50 years ending in the mid 1200?
Has France ever demonstrably been "ready" for an invasion?
