"Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence in society." And of course, dressing appropriately for job interviews is very important. Sometimes, just dressing for a job interview is even more important. From February 26, 2012 CBS Sacramento:
Sacramento police responded to a call at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday that a naked male Hispanic adult had entered a welding shop in the 1600 block of Juliesse Avenue and was rambling incoherently.
Shop owner Chris Johnson called police after escorting Jose Ayala, who asked for a job interview, out of his shop.
“I turn around and I’m like ‘whoa!’” Johnson said of seeing the nude man. “He said something about he was looking for work, and he was good with his hands. I didn’t know why a naked dude would be in my shop.”
Mental illness or a-fashion/political statement?
ReplyDeleteWhen I took welding in high school my uncle (who had worked as a welder) loaned me his heavy leather welding suit (leggin's, top bib, etc). A few of the guys in the class thought it was funny to call me buck-skin bill (I was ready to take them on in a fist-fight if they wanted to push it, but they never did). All the rest of the students had was cotton clothes (overalls, etc) and that stuff often caught fire.
About a decade later I was working in a shop full of welders and everyone wore the same heavy leather get-up even in the summer when the building was easily with 100 degrees plus temps--no one was stupid enough to have exposed skin regardless of how uncomfortable wearing all of that was.
Perhaps this guy was a fool, but sounds more like a serious mental disturbance to me!
To be fair, it is hard to think of someone who needs a job more than a guy who has to ask for a job while naked.
