I Did Not Install This

Nor does it appear in Apps or on any screen.
I cannot figure out to remove  it.  I do not play games on my phone and I remove them as soon as they get added against my will in an update.  Does anyone know if this may be hiding in my apps list under some deceptive name?

Restart disappeared it bur the usual hold right button did not do a restart.   It needed a 7 second hold of two buttons which worries me.

  1. A couple of things: that looks like a notification that an ad on a web page you've got open is trying to play; i've been seeing them for a while now with Firefox. The other is, if that's a Samsung phone and you recently got updated to Android 15/OneUI 7, go to Settings and search for Side Button (or find it under Advanced Features), choose that, then long-press the button labelled "long press" and change it to Power Off Menu.

  2. Looks more like a widget than an app. These are either controlled by the phone vendor, or service provider.

There may be a 2nd app store. My phone has both Google and Samsung app stores. Then there are the things your phone company installs if you buy the phone from them. I would go back to buying a Google Pixel if they would support micro SD cards again

The big 2 recently lost a lawsuit in Europe (I think it was Europe) about monopolies on app stores.

The only other thing to do is install a ROM like LineageOS if your phone supports that. Doing a HW reset doesn't usually remove malware - if that's what it is. You have to wipe the system with the bootloader and restart. There is always the possibility that you can brick the phone.

I stopped messing with installing ROMs a long way back, and just buy the cheapest phone that does what I need (which isn't a lot) and replacing the phone on an aggressive schedule.
