I have a vague memory of a mass murder interrupted at a barbecue place in Kansas City but I cannot find it. Do any of you have more examples?

Some of these are defense against an AR-15. Some are using an AR-15 for defense (mostly the latter?)

This last one is a puzzle. Several stories make mention of the fact the homeowner does own a semiautomatic rifle, but the authorities do not - in any story I have quick access to - say that is what he used to defend himself and his family
