Second Opinion
My insurer is willing to pay for second opinions. My PCP did my annual physical today and told me that having two surgeons in the same office give two radically different solutions (open-heart vs. a procedure done through a catheter) means get a second opinion from a teaching hospital so I just paid UCSF $700 to give me a second opinion. Now I need to figure out how to get a bill to submit to Blue Cross.
Good luck with your 2nd opinion Clayton. Good choice of medical centers to get it from. You might also consider having your surgery performed there as well.
ReplyDeleteThe office will eventually bill you. Simply send that to your insurance.
ReplyDeleteThey should however have a copy of your insurance card and automatically bill there.
Alternatively, you can pay the bill and send the receipt to your insurance, along with a copy of the bill. I'd suggest that as your least preferred option.
