We were on the road to Badlands National Park and we found a prairie dog town where a nearby store offered little bags of peanuts for $1 each. (Store closed; honor system on payment.) They are so cute! This one came right up to my feet begging.
Rhonda of course wanted to bring one home. This one goes in her carryon.
They carry bubonic plague. You couldn't get me within a mile of a prairie dog town.
