John Wick

Several friends are big fans of this film.  It starts with a profoundly sentimental sequence that is hard not to love.  Then it turns into Death Wish but without the redeeming social value of that film.  And did I use the word plausible anywhere?  I hope not.

Seriously, for an action adventure film, it is powerfully made.  But there is no one here (except the beagle) that deserves any sympathy or concern. 

At least Keanu Reeves is not a hypocritical gun grabber.
