Or is this just an understandable response to the trauma of being black in America?
A straphanger told The Post he came face to face with the mass shooter who opened fire on a crowded subway Tuesday — and was targeted by the mumbling madman first.
Subway rider Fitim Gjeloshi recalled how he was on the Manhattan-bound N train just before 8:30 a.m. in Brooklyn when he noticed the suspect sitting in the corner, muttering to himself.
“I looked at him, and I thought to myself he was talking to himself for like a while, so I looked at him, and I was like, this guy must be on drugs,” Gjeloshi said outside the 72nd Precinct in Sunset Park after talking to cops Tuesday afternoon.
I think it more likely, not enough drugs. Mental health treatment is much cheaper than cleaning up blood and treating the injured for PTSD.

Great way to reduce racist assumptions about black people.
It has now emerged that he was known to the FBI and was questioned in 2019 in New Mexico though it is not yet clear why. He was cleared but was entered into the state's 'Guardian Lead' system. The Guardian Program is the bureau's terrorist threat and suspicious incident tracking system.
Despite being on that list, James was unimpeded as he relentlessly uploaded hate-speech-filled clips on YouTube about how oppressed black people were and how black and white people should have 'no contact', for weeks before Tuesday's attack.
I know the FBI is not the Department of Future Crime, but his social media racist ranting (on Facebook which pretends to stop racist rants), in a society not obsessed with white racism, would be a basis for keeping track of him.
The paranoia never ends:
At the end of his final video, he said: 'Why should a n****r be on this planet besides to pick tobacco or sugar plant. There is no natural reason for there to be such a thing as an American negro, African American, there is no reason for it. Except for you to be a slave. That is your rightful place, it always will be. Until you build a black state of Israel, which you don't want. You want to send your a** in the ghetto and play n****r.
You could always be a doctor or a Supreme Court justice, or a general, or any of a number of professions in which blacks are welcome.
'This is what this s**t in Ukraine is a build up to. It's to get rid of your a**. Nuclear devices are going to be dropped. The president of Ukraine is calling for nuclear war. And so, I talk about my condition but, what the f*** can you do?

UPDATE: You wonder how many hatred of whites and Jews (who are also white) crimes are not being reported because the criminals are not caught, lack Facebook, or are smart enough not to incriminate themselves.
Imagine if a drumbeat of propaganda told women that systemic sexism meant that they could aspire to nothing higher than housewife. Would it cause unstable women to do criminal acts?
