I am guessing that because it occasionally does bring up a login form for Schwab that something is wrong with TurboTax's queuing of requests to the Schwab servers. Sometimes it gets a connection but the connection times out before I enter credentials. The right fix would be ask the user for ID and password and feed them in as soon as there is a connection. The user does nothing at connection time; TurboTax is just downloading a block of data on interest, dividends, and capital gains/losses. Yes holding the credentials while waiting for the connection is a potential security weakness but failure to import the data is likely to lead to a refund demand for software that is not usable

TurboTax Not Importing From Schwab
I have tried all the tricks: clearing cookies in my browser even though TurboTax does not use a browser; making sure Schwab allows third party access. It is not just the 1099-A and 1099-B forms for interest and dividends. It is all the capital gain and loss transactions that I really do not want to enter by hand. That is a lot of work and opportunity for typos. Is anyone else having this problem?
