Few Mass Murders Make Sense

 Some have an obvious motive: extortion, robbery, eliminating witnesses, mental illness.  Some are clearly the consequence of intoxication even if some other factor provoked the final act.  Some just make you scratch your head and wonder, "What the hell happened?"

Rochester, N.Y. (1934)

12/01/1934: The neighbors complained about a noisy “three-day drinking party.”  When police arrived, the man answering the door said “wait a minute.”  Police forced entry after hearing shots.  The private detective at the party shot to death his three companions and then himself.
