I want a bit more window space than even the 33" monitor gives me, so I put the laptop to the left. It is more than enough. Even though the built-in speakers are pretty good, I put the existing external speakers on. To take the laptop on the road I just unplug the audio jack, the HDMI connector, the USB jack, and the power connector.
