As Is So Often the Case

A very entertaining movie about an actual event takes some liberties with the truth.  Blackkklansman is very fun; https://www.google.com/amp/s/slate.com/culture/2018/08/whats-fact-and-whats-fiction-in-blackkklansman.amp tells you what is invention.  A black cop joins the KKK using a white colleague to go in.

Of course,  this being Spike Lee, he quotes Trump out of context about the Charlottesville riot.  Trump said there were good people on both sides of the dispute about taking down the statue of a  Democrat traitor.   My sympathies are with leaving them up as reminders of how rapidly heroes become villains.

Of course,  tearing down statues instead of allowing the lawful authorities to make these decisions is just anarchy, guaranteed to lead to violence. (And the elk did not have it comin'.)
