I was aware of the 1837 concealed Bowie knife fight on the floor of Arkansas House of Representatives and the 1813 fight on the floor of the Louisiana House of Representatives that ended when the attacked drew a concealed pistol. But when I searched for all instances of pistol within 5 words of carry, I found a Wisconsin Territorial legislator drawing a concealed pistol (apparently a Colt) to shoot another in 1842. I wonder how many other signs of the "lowest class" of Americans I can find shooting up legislative buildings?
