After that disastrous install of the Edimax drivers, I am trying again with the TP-Link AC1300 Mini Wireless MU-MIMO USB Adapter. It either plugs and plays or not. Where the big clunky TP-LINK AC1200 adapter gives me 54 Mbps, this gives me 56-58 Mbps, slightly above the ISP's promised 50 Mbps. It is not quite as compact as the Edimax, but it can probably stay in while loading it into the case. At least it isn't clunky large.
