NIH Study From 2005
Reports chloroquine is effective prophylactic against coronavirus. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1232869/
Now you know why the leftist media oppose use of it.
Old news - it's effective against SARS-CoV in a test tube. COVID19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2. And it's probably effective against it too in a test tube.
Hopefully, we'll soon have good evidence of its value in humans. My guess is that it will be - but whether it works best to prevent infection, to cure the first stage, or to help with the deadly second stage - who knows.
I suspect this old (2005) report is why doctors started trying chloroquine or hydrochloroquine.

Interesting, but it's an in vitro study. HCQ has serious side effects which are being downplayed. Let's keep working on it.
