because you never have enough early automatic weapons from the Founding Era
I found this while treadmilling.
Flintlock volley gun: 240 rounds in two minutes. The Navy bought and
used them in the War of 1812. Apparently, the one from the USS
Constitution is in the U.S. Navy Museum.
