The Samsung Health App has a very nice feature called Weight Management.  You tell it your target weight and date (not yesterday).  You enter your diet in the food section, and throughout the day, it tells you how many calories you are over or under where you need to be.  If you are 400 calories under, maybe that cheeseburger is okay; if you are 400 calories over, start walking.  It guesses (I think) how many calories you burn at rest and when walking around.  Of course, you need the phone on you as you move around.  So far, ii is helping.
