Thanks for all the suggestions the last few months about Tater's marking problem. None have worked. For a couple months we have kept him confined to either the laundry room or the garage when he isn't outside. But when he does escape the laundry room he immediately heads for an opportunity to mark. Oddly enough, never in the garage. Tonight he marked the clean laundry in the laundry room, driving my wife to extreme frustration. We still dare not leave him outside at night because of coyotes. (When old age takes him, it will likely be more merciful than being torn apart by a coyote.)
As annoying as the marking is, I really do love him and want the year or two left of his life to be as comfortable and safe as a suburban cat can enjoy. Somewhere this is a family with a big yard who would love this affectionate little creature who is an outdoor kitty. Just not sure how to find them.
