Civility As "White Supremacy"

National Review has an article about how an NYU professor is claiming that:

Fortunately, though, we have all sorts of post-colonial scholarship, history, and theory that help us understand how calls for civility are just a power play by those who feel that white supremacy is under threat.

Actually, I think that calm and self-restrained conversation is under threat.  There was a time when white supremacists liked to claim that blacks and Hispanics were completely controlled by their passions, and lacked the self-discipline to look beyond immediate gratification.  This idiot seems to be making that argument.
