USA Today gathered data on mass murders 2006-2010. Only about 3/4 involved guns (click buttons “shooting,” “stabbing,”, “blunt force,” “Smoke inhalation/burns” for the totals.) But even in gun mass murders: 72.9% handguns, 18.5% rifles (8.6% semiautomatic rifles); 8.6% shotguns. And these are the guns carried, not necessarily used by the killer.
